The Band Economic Development Officer administers the Economic Development Programs of the Whitefish River First Nation and reports directly to the Chief and Council, the Whitefish River Development Corporation Board of Directors and annually to Indian and Northern Affairs Canada.  There are four main areas of focus to the program as follows:

1. training and employment support;

2. business support;

3. resource management support; and

4. economic development related activities. 

The office provides technical assistance and support to the membership for a variety of federal and provincial programs including employment and training initiatives through Services Canada, letters of reference, resume writing, career planning, specialized trades and apprenticeship programs.  Provides assistance to clients on numerous federal and provincial programs for those whom are interested in either starting a new business or expansion of an existing business.  Provides assistance and technical support on major capital projects, infrastructure development, feasibility studies, pre-engineering studies and funding applications.
