Community Health Representative

The Community Health Representative is responsible for delivering and promoting the community health component of the Whitefish River First Nation.  Duties include: administering health programs, Medical home visits, Medical referrals/appointments, education and prevention.

Mental Health Services

The Community Mental Health Services Worker is responsible for providing specialized assessments, consultation, counselling, referrals, and support to the clients of the Whitefish River First Nation.  To coordinate case management issues with health professionals.  Implement policies and procedures established by the Mnaamodzawin Health Services Mental Health Team and the Chief and Council of the Whitefish River First Nation.  Other duties include referrals to appropriate agencies/services, networking with First Nation Mental Health and Addiction Workers, Coordinate with Health Care Professionals and promote Health Lifestyles.

N.N.A.D.A.P Worker

The NNADAP worker is responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering prevention and intervention programs to the people of the Whitefish River First Nation.  The main function of the NNADAP program is to assist individuals and families in dealing with and reducing, alcohol and drug related problems. The concept of this program is to provide a healthy lifestyle alternative to substance and alcohol abuse.  To ensure that the specific population, such as youth, elders, on-reserve population, local school, etc. are receiving appropriate prevention and intervention programs.  Duties include: intake, referrals, follow-up/after-care, home visits, basic prevention programming at local schools and community education.  Activities include: National Addictions Week Activities, youth activities, family dances, inter-reserve programming, sports activities and movie nights.

Community Health Promotions Worker

The focus is for Community Wellness Worker to provide family violence services, referrals, support and case management to clients to address existing and emerging health, healing and wellness.  The Worker will assist clients to develop action plans to address the identified concerns.  The Worker will share information with health and social agencies; organize and facilitate community events (e.g., cultural awareness, education, illness prevention and crisis intervention workshops, as well as promotion programming for school age and other youth, seniors and other identified populations); and undertake outreach (e.g., health and wellness fairs).  Aboriginal cultural approaches will be reflected or used as a part of the activities and services.  Funded by Aboriginal Healing and Wellness Strategy.
